Maham Khurshid

BPU Energy Fellow

Maham Khurshid is a second-year graduate student pursuing a dual master’s degree in public informatics and urban planning at Rutgers University, concentrating on environmental sustainability and energy analytics. She graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science in Environmental Sciences.

Maham has previously worked as a Climate Resilience Policy Intern at the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP), where she contributed to the development of climate resilience policies and led GIS projects, including the creation of an ArcGIS story map for the Manville Disaster Risk Reduction Areas.

Currently, she is working with the Rutgers Green Building Center on several New Jersey Board of Public Utilities (BPU) projects, such as energy benchmarking and solar market potential studies. Maham specializes in geospatial and data analysis and promotes sustainability through data-driven solutions.

Outside work and school, Maham mentors students as the Mentorship Coordinator for the Bloustein Graduate Student Association (BGSA), helping them navigate their master’s degree journey.
