Ashlyn Spector

Unit Manager

Ashlyn Spector is a Unit Manager for the Environmental Analysis and Communications Group and NJ Climate Change Resource Center at Rutgers University Bloustein School of Public Policy and Planning. She is contributing to the State Office of Emergency Management’s 2024 State Hazard Mitigation Plan update by incorporating climate resilience and equity concepts alongside conducting stakeholder engagement to understand hazard planners’ needs for data, training, and more.  Prior to joining Bloustein, Ashlyn was a Sea Grant Knauss Fellow on the U.S. Senate Commerce Committee, Subcommittee on Oceans, Fisheries, Manufacturing, and Climate Change. While working at The Senate, she contributed to and wrote legislation on oceans, weather, fisheries, and technology impacting The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). She has a Bachelor of Science in Geology from The University of Florida and a Master of Science in Earth Science from Rutgers University.
