Building Bridges: Connecting Classrooms and Communities
Civic Square Building
Wednesday, May 22
Interested in citizen science in your community? Join the Sustainable Raritan River Initiative for an environmental conversation and pizza to gain the answers to the following questions: WHAT is the link between citizen science and schools? WHAT hands-on learning opportunities can link environmental quality to local decision-making? HOW do we measure environmental quality? HOW can we encourage environmental stewardship through our classrooms? WHERE do we find local experts to help us give science education a ‘real world’ perspective? Join our partners from the Raritan Headwaters Association, the Stony Brook Millstone Watershed Association, Association of NJ Environmental Commissions (ANJEC), NJ Audubon, and the Great Swamp Watershed Association and educators from West Windsor-Plainfield, The Willow School, Bernards High School, Readington Township Public Schools and more to continue the conversation started at ANJEE in January — and work on building bridges between our natural classrooms and YOUR school.
