The project objective is the development of a comprehensive residential energy use baseline inventory for all municipalities in New Jersey for use by utility companies, energy services companies, state-level energy planners and municipalities.

The project team developed a data dashboard for municipalities in New Jersey. The American Community Survey and the 2020 Residential Energy Consumption Survey are leveraged to generate synthetic households and population profiles at the census tract level for each municipality. The resulting residential energy use baseline is showcased through an innovative web-based interactive data dashboard, modeled on a template previously developed for Maplewood Township. The data dashboard also includes local energy-saving potentials for selected policy scenarios. The dashboard is updated annually with the latest ACS PUMs, ACS, and/or ResStock data.
