Alexandru Voicu has a Ph. D. in economics from Rutgers University (2001). He is currently an Associate Professor of Economics at the City University of New York, College of Staten Island, a member of the Doctoral Faculty at The Graduate School and University Center, City University of New York, and a research fellow at IZA, Bonn. Professor Voicu’s main research interests are the application of MCMC methods to a wide range of microeconometric models, labor supply of women, school demographics, international trade, economics of transition. He has been teaching a wide array of courses, including Econometrics and Statistics, Microeconomics, Labor Economics, Behavioral Economics, Sports Economics. He collaborates on CUPR projects involving econometric analyses, such as the development of demographic multipliers for fiscal impact assessments.
