Emily Evers

Emily Evers is a third-year dual degree master’s student in Public Policy and City & Regional Planning at the Edward J Bloustein School of Planning and Public Policy at Rutgers University. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Sociology from The College of New Jersey, Emily worked with several food security-focused nonprofit organizations on community-driven projects across Northern New Jersey. These experiences developed her expertise in community engagement and sustainability and motivated her to pursue statewide change through planning and policy.

During her time as a graduate student, Emily has interned with the New Jersey Economic Development Authority, where she helped shape a program to support projects strengthening food access and food security in New Jersey’s food desert communities. She also interned in the Governor’s Policy Office, where she worked closely with the Office of Climate Action & the Green Economy and contributed to impactful projects on transportation and housing. Most recently, she has supported the Climate Change Resource Center in helping NJ municipalities identify their greatest climate risks through Climate Change Related Hazard Vulnerability Assessment plans. At CUPR, Emily supports research on building energy benchmarking and building performance standards.
