Jie Gong, PhD, CM-BIM, is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering, Rutgers University. He has Ph.D. in Civil Engineering from the University of Texas at Austin. Gong’s research interest include intelligent sensing and computing methods for data collection, information retrieval, and knowledge discovery from the complex and interrelated infrastructure, environmental, and social systems. His current research focuses on building information modeling, intelligent building energy audit and analysis methods, pattern recognition and data mining in remote sensing for critical infrastructure condition monitoring, and spatial sensing and modeling for resilient and sustainable built environment. Dr. Gong is the recipient of the 2010 Best Paper Award of ASCE Journal of Computing in Civil Engineering. He served as the co-conference chair for the 2012 ASCE International Conference on Sustainable Design.
