Jason Kliwinski, AIA, LEED Fellow/Faculty, WELLap, BECxP, CSBA, CRL has historically focused on three main areas: Sustainable Architecture, Consulting and Education over the last thirty years. As a practicing Architect, Jason’s work includes the healthy, environmentally responsible, and cost-effective renovation of existing buildings as well as the creation of many new high-performance projects across multiple market sectors. Jason’s architectural firm, Designs for Life, approaches projects practically & holistically, focusing on incorporating sustainability to the fullest extent possible on time and within budget. Work includes corporate, commercial, educational, hospitality, municipal, residential & retail clients. Services include sustainable architecture, planning, and preservation. As a Consultant, Jason has assisted clients across multiple markets in achieving LEED™ and WELL™ Building certifications on dozens of projects as well as net zero carbon, energy, waste, water, and health impact results. The collaborative that he co-founded, the Green Building Center, provides a convenient one-stop suite of sustainability services to owners, design professionals, & developer teams, making green building easier, more cost-effective, and a smart business. Services include building envelope and MEP commissioning, carbon/energy/water/waste assessments, modeling and reduction planning, indoor air quality assessment, construction waste recycling management, life cycle assessment, daylight & ventilation modeling, integrated design process management, owner representation and overall project management in addition to third party certification oversight for rating systems like LEED, WELL, and Living Building Challenge. Jason is also a passionate Educator. He is LEED & WELL Faculty, a Climate Reality Leader, Energy Code instructor, GPro Instructor, prior adjunct professor at NJIT, Rowan, and Montclair State Universities, and regularly a guest lecturer at NJIT and Princeton University on sustainable design. He has developed & teaches many sustainability courses at the University and professional development levels on a range of green topics in addition to speaking nationally and internationally at various conferences such as Greenbuild, AIA, and the World Energy and Engineering Conference.
