Richard Wener, PhD, is Professor Emeritus of the Department of Humanities and Social Sciences and Professor of Environmental Psychology at Polytechnic Institute of NYU in Brooklyn, New York. His area of specialization focuses on the interaction of people and their physical setting and the impact of environmental design on behavior. He is principal investigator for a research project that is studying the effects of rail commuting on stress by collecting data before and after improvement in rail service from New Jersey. He has also worked with the New York City Transit on the development of information kiosks. Dr. Wener is currently working with the Rutgers Center for Green Building on Post Occupancy Evaluation, and is a Visiting Scholar at the Center.
