Ten Most Important Accomplishments in Risk Analysis

The article discusses the 10 most important accomplishments in risk analysis for the period 1980-2010. The list, which include accomplishments that focus on health, safety, and the environment, was produced as part of the 30th anniversary of the Society for Risk Analysis (SRA). These accomplishments include understanding how affect and trust influence risk perception and behavior, recognizing that personal decisions reflect different processes for valuing and combining anticipated and actual losses, gains, delays, and surprises, and developing an environmental justice ethic and frameworks.
