Mid-Atlantic Regional Non-Consumptive Recreational Use Survey

The Mid-Atlantic Regional Planning Body (RPB) was established in 2013 through a Presidential Executive Order to create a National Ocean Policy to guide planning and policy efforts aimed at protecting America’s Oceans and Coastline. The Mid-Atlantic RPB developed an Ocean Action Plan (OAP) that was finalized in the summer of 2016 that outlined actions for stakeholder engagement. One of the actions identified was for the RPB to engage with the Non-Consumptive Recreational Use Community. Center staff helped to guide and implement the development of a web-based survey that was in the field from July 4, 2017 through September 5, 2017. Findings from the survey will be used to help identify priority areas for continued stakeholder engagement and will also offer an opportunity to examine user defined areas of importance for ocean management.
