This year, 11 participants in Somerville Borough, Bridgewater Township, and Raritan Borough installed rain gardens through the Rain Garden Rebate Program. The program, which is a partnership with the Rutgers Water Resources Program, is in its second year. Participants learn about rain gardens at a community workshop, receive one-on-one design consultations, and are eligible to receive up to $450 back for installing rain gardens on their properties. An additional round of workshops will be held in March 2015 for residents of Somerville, Bridgewater, and Raritan.
